Who Can Qualify

Grants are given first to residents of Methow Valley School District #350, or graduates (or pending graduates) of Liberty Bell High School or the MV Alternative School. We look to financial need, apparent ability of the student to achieve his or her educational goal, and character. We look at school attendance records and recommendations.

As required by IRS regulations, recipients must be chosen by the Foundation board. A few grants have certain parameters, including an annual grant to go to a local ski team graduate, and another earmarked for a student attending trade or vocational school or community college.

Hardcopy applications are available from Liberty Bell Jr/Sr High School guidance office. Click the link below for the digital version. The deadline is April 6th. The board interviews each applicant on a date set with the school.

Once a grant is given, it is renewable for up to 4 years (or two years if awarded for a community college or two year trade school) so long as the student continues to attend an accredited school full time, make expected progress toward their degree and maintains a GPA of at least 2.0. Grants are paid in the second semester or quarter of each academic year except in cases of special need as determined by the board.
