Founded in 1984

The Methow Valley Education Foundation was formed in 1984 by Methow Valley community members who saw a need to help fund post high school education.

Scholarships are provided for students to attend vocational and trade schools, community colleges, and universities.

The General Scholarship and Tom Zbyszewski Memorial Scholarship provide $4,000 per year, for up to four years of the student’s educational program.

The Vocational Scholarship is tailored to each recipient based on need and overall cost of the program.

Over $1,000,000 dollars has been awarded to hardworking students since 1984.

Students come from Liberty Bell High School and the Methow Valley Independent Learning Center, as well as older students returning to school.

100% of all donations goes directly to fund the scholarships.

All administrative expenses are covered by the volunteer board of directors.

Scholarship recipients have attended educational programs for firefighters, teachers, beauticians, lawyers, paramedics, farriers, pilots, violin makers, astronauts, and many other career paths.
